day by day

Hello everyone !

first I want to say happy new year ( I know , I am late)
As second sorry for not updating in such a long time I don't really have an excuse though ,
I guess I am just being lazy (sigh)
the time goes really fast, and now I am over the half of my year, if I look back this was a great half year with so much fun and so many opportunities.
It makes me a bit sad knowing you have only less than 5 months left but I enjoy it as much as I can and I will enjoy it day by day!

oh well anyway my update

lets start with my birthday (which was a month ago lol)
If you know me personally you might know I don't really like my own birthday.. don't ask why I just don't like it(probably cause it drags so much attention.. )
But this year was special of course not only I turned 16 (which is a special age in The Netherlands)
als I am in Japan (thats nothing new I guess..?)
my homeroom teacher made a drawing for me on the board with congratulations on it from the hole class , which was very nice of her, and of course people congratulated me with my birthday :)
on wednesday I have Japanese class with the Brazilian soccer guy and other exchange students but today we celebrated my birthday , so me,the Japanese teacher , an english teacher ,and the other exchange students celebrated my birthday while the tutoring .
My teachers brought a lot of sweets with them which is alway good haha :)

Normally I have club on wednesday but because of my birthday I came home earlier ,
also my host dad who works usually until 6 PM came home earlier , also my host grandparents came to celebrate my birthday which was really nice of them , after diner I received presents ,
my grandparents gave me a choco cake and my little host brothers gave me a pencil and stamp (which are really cute haha) also I received a handmade card with a message ,my host parents gave me a bag (which I picked out by myself the weekend  before my birthday )
the cake was really cute (as you can see in the pictures ) the cat is from a TV program which is really popular in Japan among children ( I have to admit I like it as well )

with a Canadian exchange student  I celebrated my birthday in Akihabara (Tokyo) we both invited our friends ,because the German girl never has been to Akihabara before I invited her , also I invited an Australian exchange student (who was here for 3 months ) and the American exchange student .
with a good Japanese friend I went to Ueno zoo which has a panda(!!!)
we talked a lot and had a lot of fun ^^

after al the buzzy days , the 'sad day' came the exchange students who came in march and the half year program exchange students returned to their home countries ,which was really sad.
we had a goodbye party with my chapter/area group( took a long way to come there  -,-)
which was pretty emotional , al the host families where there and the exchange students who were going to leave (obviously everyone except me.... ) had to read out lout their speech which they prepared before the party .
a lot of tears were shed (mine as well ..) and it also reminds me that I have to do the same thing when I am leaving( *sigh* this is going to be hard....)

This week I have been sicks and even my voice has been gone for two days ( exactly the days with the subjects where teamwork key is, like cooking...)
today its getting better but still my voice is not yet how it use to be .
I even skipped two schooldays (monday and tuesday) wednesday we had a day off , on that day I felt  much better, my host mom planned to go with me , my host grandfather and my younger host brother to go to sumo  so I was very lucky to feel better that day  ,( unfortunately after that day my voice was gone , because I wan't completely recovered yet)
it was a really nice experience and really awesome to watch even the seats are awesome to see .

two weeks ago was the Sestubun festival , it is the day before spring starts , we made long sushi rolls (ehoumaki)and you are suppose to eat the ehoumaki while pointing to special direction (ehou)(which change every year) this year it was west south west , also you throw (raw)soy beens to the oni monster (is most likely your host dad with a mask...)

this is my update hope you enjoyed reading , I am not sure when my next post is haha
